Since the launch of the Waterfall series, four models—Bead, Beethoven, Dolphin, and BlueWhale—have accompanied many users in their daily lives. Throughout this journey, we have been constantly reflecting on the most fundamental question: what do users truly need from a hearing aid?
We have received a great deal of enthusiastic feedback from users, and these valuable opinions have even pointed out details we previously overlooked:
• On convenience: Some users have asked whether Bead could be made non-ear-specific so that you can just pick it up and wear it without checking left or right. Does BlueWhale support independent single-ear use?
• On functionality and design: Others have wondered whether Dolphin could be upgraded with dual microphones for clearer sound quality, or whether Beethoven could be offered in more color options, making wearing a hearing aid a stylish choice.
Every piece of advice reflects the trust our users place in us. Our R&D team is now turning these voices into reality, step by step.
After in-depth conversations with many senior users, we have gradually come to understand the "small quirks" and "big expectations" that older adults hold toward technology. What they truly need has never been cool-sounding but bewildering complex tech—rather, it is a hassle-free companion, as reliable as an old friend:
Don't make them distinguish left from right: Complicated "earphone" systems and rigid left-right differentiation are a burden to them. The ideal is simply to pick it up and wear it—whatever way works.
Not just easy to wear, but hard to lose: Designs like Dolphin's over-ear style are thoughtful—older adults move slowly and their hands may tremble, so a design that is not easily dropped gives them peace of mind.
Keep operation and charging as simple as possible: Say goodbye to cumbersome on/off switches. The ideal is "automatically power on when lifted from the charging dock"—when not charging, it stands quietly by, never making them anxious about finding a switch.
Large buttons and the right tactile feel: Older fingers are no longer as nimble. They need large, clearly defined external buttons like those on bone-conduction headphones—easy to locate by touch. Volume control should ideally be an intuitive joystick, and there should never be more than two buttons.
Intelligence in the background, simplicity on the surface: Even with a phone app for management, voice control like Siri is highly desirable. Many senior users are actually "voice command" enthusiasts—speaking is far easier than squinting at a screen and hunting for buttons.
What older adults need is not cold, flashy gimmickry, but a nimble, simple "little life assistant" that truly helps and accompanies them.
With these hopes in mind, the new Conch was born
